Energy

For our organism to live and function, humans need energy and ensuring sufficient energy is one of the main reasons for eating. These needs derive from the basic physiological functions of the human organism, both ensuring the required warmth and also the physical activity of an individual. The energy that an individual needs for their basic functioning is called the basal metabolic rate (BMR), which represents the major part of energy consumption during normal physical activity. The basal metabolic rate depends on an individual’s weight, height, age and gender. The exact energy consumption for the metabolism is determined by calorimetry (the science of measuring heat) or indirectly with an individual’s consumption of oxygen. Usually, the non-experimental calculation of the basal metabolic rate is used, of which the Harris-Benedict formula is the most common.

CALCULATE YOUR
DAILY ENERGY DEMAND

Izračun potrebne dnevne energije:

Pri BP kcal (izračunano zgoraj) in stopnji aktivnosti so vaše potrebe po energiji           kcal.

The daily energy requirements are based on the calculation of the basal metabolic rate and the use of the individual’s physical activity level (PAL). PAL determines the factor that is used to multiply the basal metabolic rate in order to get the estimated daily energy consumption. The physical activity level depends on every individual’s lifestyle (job, habits, physical activity, etc.)

Izračun potrebne dnevne energije:

Pri BP kcal (izračunano zgoraj) in stopnji aktivnosti so vaše potrebe po energiji           kcal.

If you consume more energy than you are anticipated to use, you will gain weight, while a lower intake will contribute to reducing weight.
