About the product
Laxemon nutritional supplement contains lactulose, which contributes to faster passage of intestinal contents. This effect is achieved with a dose of 10 grams (2 sachets) of lactulose at a time. The product also contains magnesium, which contributes to electrolyte balance. The lactulose in the large intestine is broken down by the bacteria present into organic acids that bind a lot of water. This makes the intestinal contents softer, which facilitates the passage of stool. An increased amount of intestinal contents increases the pressure in the intestine, which is a sign to the body to trigger the contraction of the colon – discharge. In addition, lactulose also has a prebiotic effect, as it is a source of food for intestinal bacteria and thus has a beneficial effect on the balance of the intestinal microbiota.
Lactulose is indigestible by human digestive enzymes, so it passes into the large intestine undigested. Lactulose in the large intestine is broken down by bacteria into lactic acid and small amounts of acetic, propionic and butyric acids. Organic acids are osmotically active, so they bind a lot of water and thus make the intestinal contents softer and more voluminous. This increases the pressure in the gut which triggers the contraction of the colon. The result of use is regular and normal bowel movements. The passage of stool is also easier as the contents are softer (the latter is also important in hemorrhoids).
Lactulose is NOT a stimulant laxative but softens stools. Unlike some laxatives (such as hay extract and some laxatives), the action of lactulose is gentle and promotes the excretion of faeces in a natural way, so even if used daily it does not cause dependence on laxatives, so-called “lazy bowel syndrome”. This is a condition that occurs after laxative abuse; the bowel no longer responds to physiological stimuli and the person cannot pass normally without the use of laxatives.
Ensure adequate water supply. 2-3 L per day is recommended.
A dietary supplement is not a substitute for a balanced and varied diet. The recommended daily dose should not be exceeded.
